Metroid fans, we’re eating! And so is Samus!
During today’s Nintendo Direct the company dropped a reveal trailer for the rumored next Metroid game and folks, let me tell you, this looks SICK.
It’s Metroid’s anniversary as well, and though Nintendo isn’t outright acknowledging it, it’s most definitely celebrating by giving us a brand new game. The sequel to the excellent Dread, Metroid ravenous will follow Samus after the events of that game in a brand new 2D world… or, uh, moon. The game will follow the hero as she “eats or is eaten,” whatever that means. Ravenous! Like hunger!
Hunger Games!
The game will launch exclusively on the Switch 2 on January 28, 2027 in a special Collector’s Edition bundle and alongside brand new amiibo.
