The Blue Bomber and TWINKLE GIRL mix it up
Mega Man: Dual Override is one of my most-anticipated gaming returns in a minute, as bringing the diminutive hero back to the forefront conjures all kinds of memories from gaming in the Eighties. Now for the first time we get a true gameplay trailer, and it’s packed to the brim with stuff!
In the video we see Mega Man donning different suits and weapons, and we finally get an explanation on the Override system. Essentially it’ll let us power up moves and attacks with the flip being that we’re also more susceptible to attacks. It could be a neat risk-reward system of play.
We also see the return of Proto Man, Rush, and a new robot master, Twinkle Girl. The boss seems to have a similar attack set to Clown Man from Mega Man 8, dealing fireworks and circus-like attacks. The MM8 link is doubly so with the inclusion of Astro Man in the mix, too.
Oh, and the artwork looks terrific, with a sort of hand-drawn feel to the animation style.
Mega Man: Dual Override information is about to go into blazing fast mode, as it’s expected sometime in 2027.
